abstract
a sensitive and simple method for simultaneous preconcentration of trace heavy metal ions in some cerealand vegetable samples has been reported. the method is based on the adsorption of cu2+, fe3+, zn2+ and pb2+on 2-(2-nitro-phenylazo)-naphthalen-1-ol (npn) loaded on activated carbon (ac). the adsorbed metals onactivated carbon were eluted using 3 ml 4 mol l−1 nitric acid. the influences of the analytical parametersincluding ph, flow rate of sample and eluent, type and concentration of eluent, amount of adsorbent andsample volume were investigated. the effects of matrix ions on the recoveries of analyte ions were alsoinvestigated. the recoveries of analytes were generally higher than 95%. the detection limits for cu2+, fe3+,zn2+ and pb2+ were 0.17 μg l-1 , 0.16 μg l-1 ,0.11 μg l-1 and 0.12 μg l-1 respectively.

full textDetermination of beryllium in solid samples by flame atomic absorption spectrometry after preconcentration on activated carbon.
It is generally supposed that the preconcentration procedure is used for the determination of metal concentrations under the sensitivity of the measurement method. This study showed that preconcentration is also need for the beryllium (Be) concentration over the sensitivity of atomic absorption spectrometry. For this purpose, a simple and selective method for the determination of Be in solid sa...
full textDetermination of Rhodium(III) Ions by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry after Preconcentration with Modified Magnetic Activated Carbon
A new method for analysis of trace amount of Rh(III) ions by magnetic activated carbon modified with 2,3,5,6-tetra(2-pyridyl)pyrazine (MAC/TPPZ) as the magnetic sorbent has been proposed. The proposed adsorbent was found to be advantageous over conventional solid phase extraction (SPE) in terms of operational simplicity and low time-consuming. The experimental parameters affecting the extractio...
full textPreconcentration and determination of palladium water samples by ionic liquid - dispersive liquid liquid microextraction combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry
A simple, rapid and efficient dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction by use of ionic liquid (IL-DLLME)method, followed by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was developed for the preconcentrationand determination of palladium in water samples. In this method, an appropriate mixture of acetone and octylmethyl imidazolium hexafluorophosphate was injected rapidly into the aqueous sample...

full textDetermination of Cadmium by Flame-Atomic Absorption Spectrometry After Preconcentration on Silica Gel Modified with Cupferron
